Pachamama Invocation

About 10 years ago, my spiritual guide and teacher Tupaq Ttito Kuntur gave me a key to unlock a deeper dimension of my spiritual journey: the language of Quechua.

Quechua is an ancient language spoken by Indigenous people all across South America. It developed orally and was handed down through spoken language rather than in writing. The people who developed Quechua and continue to speak it live in a continuous relationship to nature and the spiritual realms. The language has developed to support this connection—it’s vibrational and visceral. Speaking Quechua feels more like singing in the body, mind, and spirit than speaking in English.

I’m by no means an expert in Quechua, but I learned from Túpaq that there are codes similar to mantras in Sanskrit. When  you repeat these codes over and over again, there’s a vibrational energy that opens something up in your body and mind. You gain access to the multidimensional self, portals to higher consciousness and the helping spirits that govern these dimensions. In this way, the language is alive. It’s connected to the cosmic beings in the universe that are ready and waiting to assist us.

Speaking in Quechua opens up dimensions of being within the multidimensional body, connecting us with the truth of who we are. It allows us to remember who we are as cosmic beings of light and opens our path, to authentic embodiment and to our spiritual evolution.

After he told me this, I began learning and praying in Quechua.

As I  began to understand the codes of the language, I started singing in Quechua as well. Melodies started coming to me and evolving as part of my daily prayers. I felt like I was receiving them, like music was the medium and I was the channel between these multidimensional spaces and Spirits, and the present moment. The melodies felt deeply personal to me so I kept them safe in my body and mind, rarely sharing them with anyone.

In 2019, I went on a vision fast in Death Valley with a dear sister mentor friend. I spent four days and four nights alone in the middle of the desert fasting, praying, making offerings, and listening. On the fourth night, we were instructed to create a circle at sunset and stay in the circle all night, praying for a vision. The owls came...and so did the ancestors. All of a sudden, as I was trying to keep myself from falling asleep, I heard a very clear, deep baritone voice. It was so clear to me that for a moment I forgot I was completely alone. This ancestor said,

“Write your songs.”

I knew when I left Death Valley that I had to comply with these orders.

It was two years to the week of my desert vision fast, and the middle of the pandemic, when I was finally able to get up the courage and take action. During all that time I remembered the message I’d received, but I was caught up in procrastination and fear and ego. Music has always been a part of my life, but I have so much traumatic memory wrapped up in it. I don’t see myself as a performer, nor am I interested in performing.

But I had received a message from an ancestor and I wanted to honor it. I decided the first song I would record would be an offering to the Pachamama.

Before each recording session, I set up my altar, called in the Pachamama, and set my intention to be a channel, an open vessel.  I reminded myself that it was not about me. Each session, her Grace would arrive. It enabled me to flow with focus and ease, and without fear or distraction. I was able to show up fully, and to open up the channel of unconditional love that is the Cosmic Mother.

When it came down to doing the actual work of producing, arranging, and recording this piece, I thought I would be battling some anxiety and my old trauma history around music. But,  it was so fun and not anxiety-provoking at all. I partnered with Mark Whitcomb, at DNA studios to bring my vision and song into a reality. He’s a brilliant dude and awesome producer, who was so incredibly kind and patient with both my spiritual and creative processes.  We worked hard and birthed a true co-creation that I’m immensely proud of.

Translated into English, the words of the Pachamama Invocation are:

Cosmic Mother of All Space and Time

I’m calling you, from this dimension, from this world.

With all of my love, and with the force of my being

Thank you, thank you, thank you…And so it is (Amen)

The Pachamama’s voice has not been included in the Western worldview. Instead, we have been sold an illusion of patriarchy, a hierarchical and oppressive system. We have evolved in a society that neglects the Cosmic mother, the divine feminine. The devastation of not including her in our narrative is all around us: it’s destroying our planet.

We are now consciously evolving to remember who we really are; the Pachamama is inviting us to remember that we are her. This is what the song is about. It opens a channel to remembering the Pachamama, remembering that the source of her creation is inside all of us.

By singing this prayer, I was guided to a dimension where I was shown how to channel the energy of the Pachamama, and connect to a unconditional love and source of healing. This process allowed me to embody my true voice, a voice which also belongs to the Pachamama, because we are her.

This song is a gift to anyone hoping to open their hearts and connect with your true nature as a being of light.

It’s time for humanity to include the Cosmic Mother in our story.

I hope you listen and share it widely. I hope you experience calm and healing and energetic shifts that remind you you are supported.

I can still hear the quality and depth of the ancestor’s voice who spoke to me in the desert. With this gift to you, I am following his guidance. I am helping us remember where we’ve come from.

Donations will go towards the Sacred Wisdom School of the Incas and Adolfo’s village of Pomaqanchi. We host a fundraiser for the village every year, providing children and elders with whatever supplies will most benefit them, typically food, warm clothing, and blankets. Your donation will go towards that same cause.

If you do donate, please leave a note with Pachamama Invocation so I know how to allocate the funds.
